The art of Brian Froud.

In addition to designing the puppets with Jim Hensen for both The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth, Froud has produced a number of books almost all of which my grandmother owned. His bizarre, grotesque, beautiful little fairies had a huge influence on my childhood and my imagination.
